He sweats
He bleeds
Breaks his bones
Loses sleep
Surrenders his time
The scars number too many
Almost dies twice
But comes back the next day
For so many years

Comes home exhausted
But finds the energy
To cheer them up
To pretend everything is alright
Nothing's wrong

The paycheck is never enough
But he struggles to make it work
