Dream

If this is a dream
Don't wake me up
I like it here
It's easy to breathe
And for once
I'm not choking
On words unspoken

This has got to be a dream
Because I'm not bleeding
I think I'm sane
My heart's in one piece

Don't wake me up
Not yet
Just a little longer
I like it here
Nothing's trying to kill me
No one's trying to kill me
Everyone's so
Content

This is a dream
Don't wake me up
Because reality sucks
I'd rather stay here
Don't wake me up
Not yet
Just a little longer...

Are these all just poems or some of them song lyrics? I notice you repeat some stanzas like they're the chorus.

A couple of years ago I woke up with people around me, my face hurt. It turns out I had been walking back to my desk and passed out, my face broke my fall. I couldn't tell you what day it was or whether I had eaten lunch that day. I knew some things, like I was supposed to be on-call that weekend, but it all seemed like pulling thoughts through a fog.
All I wanted to do was go back to sleep, that was the scary part. If there had been a light at the end of the tunnel I don't think I would have walked towards it, I just would have drifted lazily away.

This poem reminded me of that.
