Homeless

Ever been alone?
(Ever been afraid?)
Ever been abandoned?
(Ever been alone?)
Have you
Ever seen
(Just)
Sunrise
(Just)
Sunset
Ever been alone?
(Ever been afraid?)
Ever been abandoned?
(Have you)
Ever seen
[Sunrise]
[Sunset]

Could you
Walk a mile
(Just a mile)
In my shoes?
Could we
Walk a mile
In their shoes?

(Can we breathe)
With their lungs?
(Can we see)
With their eyes?
(Can we bleed)
Like everyone (else?)

Tomrrow's a dream
(Just make it to morning)
Today's goodbye
(I hope you wake up)

Wake up

(Don't leave me)

Ever been alone?
(Ever been afraid?)
Ever been abandoned?
(Ever been alone?)
Have you
Ever seen
(Just)
Sunrise
(Just)
Sunset
Ever been alone?
(Ever been afraid?)
Ever been abandoned?
(Have you)
Ever seen
[Sunrise]
[Sunset]

[No home]
(No hope)
[No home]
(No hope)
[No home]
(No hope)
[No sympathy]

Ever been alone?
(They are alone)
Ever been afraid?
(They are afraid)
Ever been abandoned?
(They are abandoned)
[Sunrise]
[Sunset]

(Homeless)
[They are alone]
(Hopeless)
[They are abandoned]
Tomorrow
[They are afraid]
(Make it)
Please make it to morning

(Homeless)
[Sunrise]
(Hopeless)
[Sunset]
(Tomorrow)
[Abandoned]
I'm afraid

Dragonraid, this reminds me of a Kate Bush song from the Hounds of Love album, called "Under Ice". I'll see if I can put it on my playlist and you can hear what I mean - an undercurrent of reticent voices while the upper voice articulates what's happening. I really like this piece.

I want to assure you that I respect your work and your blog; I just can barely find the time to keep up with all the blogs I have met and continue to encounter.

Thanks for your words of encouragement.

You also need to listen to the accompanying piece "Waking the Witch". Both are now on my blog.

Thanks for posting at my website (formerly Mishmash, now Research by Kristy, http://researchbykristy.blogspot.com

(couldn't get the 'm' to fit on the same line!)

I like your lyrics. It would be nice if more people could put themselves in the shoes of others- and have some sympathy for those less fortunate than we are!
