Swallowing Pride

Choking on words unspoken
I find it hard to breathe
No one said
This was going to be easy
The words get caught in my throat
"I'm s----
Sor---"

Eating Crow

Oh how the words tasted sweet in righteous indignation,
Yet now they yield gastric irritation,
No one knows the heartburn caused by feathers swallowed in better than I,
Forgive this harmless, jest at Pride...I loved your poem...if only I could be as swift...lol

Yep those words are the one hardest things to say.

I do like this. Funny, it sort of parallels the piece I've posted today--at least the element of breathing bit.
